On Thursday 8th October 2026 at 7pm, St Edmund's Church will host the People's Emergency Briefing, a free film screening and discussion on the climate and nature crisis, open to everyone in our local community.
The People's Emergency Briefing is part of a national initiative from the National Emergency Briefing, which brings together leading scientists and experts to explain, in clear and straightforward terms, what the climate and nature crisis means for the UK and for all of us. The film sets out where things stand, what the risks are and what can still be done. It's an honest and thought provoking evening, but also one that invites us to consider how we might respond together.
After the screening there will be time for discussion. This is a chance to talk openly with neighbours, share thoughts and questions, and think about what caring for creation looks like here in Shipston on Stour. As a church, we believe we are called to be good stewards of the world God has given us, and conversations like this help us consider what that means in our homes, our town and beyond.
Everyone is welcome, whatever your views or level of knowledge on the subject. The evening is recommended for ages 16 and over.
Tickets are free, but please book in advance so we have an idea of numbers. You can book by scanning the QR code on our posters around town or by visiting www.nebriefing.org.
